Tiffany's Hope
My hope is for women to rediscover the heritage of birth. The knowledge and joy of birth has been handed down from generation to generation for thousands of years until the past century. Childbirth is now treated as a disease that needs to be cured. Thankfully, it is not a disease, but one of the most incredible experiences of our lives and should be treated with honor and respect. Once we look at birth as a natural process and allow it to be, we can once again pass on this wonderful heritage to our children. Birth is not something to be feared, but a beautiful welcoming of life

Tiffany's Belief Women are created beautifully to give birth. Women have an incredible power within themselves to give birth. With time and patience, birth will happen in its own good time. When supported and loved, women feel safe to give birth comfortably and naturally. Birth is an intimate time for you and your partner in which your relationship grows. The power of the mind is awesome and we control what we feed it. Your baby is an active participant in this joyous occasion.

Tiffany's Support
I am here to support you to have the birth you have dreamed of. I feel there is not enough support for families who have chosen a natural childbirth. It is my desire to support and educate families who are considering or planning a natural birth. I am not against medical intervention but believe that it should only be used when necessary. For the vast majority of women, these interventions are not imperative to the birth of a healthy child. Everyone must make their own decisions on what is best for them, and I will support you in whatever decision you make. This is your birth, I am here to provide you with information so you can make the best decisions for you and your family.

A little about me personally. I am married with two beautiful daughters. With my first child, I hoped for a natural birth. I took a natural childbirth class, but always had in the back of my mind that I would “try” to go natural but if it was too much I would get an epidural. As you might have guessed, it was far from the birth experience I was hoping for. At 10 days past my due date, I was scared into having an induction. I went to the hospital in the evening and started my induction with Cytotec. The next morning, the doctor came in and broke my bag of waters and then Pitocin was started. I had heard horrible stories about Pitocin and the pain it caused, so before it was even started I asked for my epidural. Fortunately, I was lucky and was able to have a vaginal birth without complications but I left her birth feeling that I missed out on the birth experience because I felt nothing! When I became pregnant the second time I was determined to have a different birthing. I started looking around at different childbirth education classes and came upon hypnosis for birthing. I will admit at first I was a little skeptical but as I looked into it and read the wonderful birth stories I decided to go for it. I looked into the different hypnosis for birthing options and found that Hypnobabies was the best fit for me. Hypnobabies is a complete childbirth educations class, you are able to use "Eye’s Open" childbirth hypnosis and move around to positions that are comfortable, and this was the program that had the most success stories. I am so happy I decided on Hypnobabies, it gave me the confidence that I could have a natural childbirth, there was no “trying” about it this time. I was so relaxed through my pregnancy and looked forward to giving birth with much anticipation and excitement! I had a wonderful natural childbirth on March 24th, 2007. My birthing was comfortable and easy throughout with a very short period of discomfort at the end. I learned a lot from my experience and look forward to passing that on to my students. I will soon have my birth story posted. Another Hypnobabies instructor has compiled wonderful Hypnobabies birth stories here, please feel free to look through these to learn how Hypnobabies works for different people. |
Now a little about my professional experience, first, I am a certified Hypnobabies Childbirth Hypnosis Instructor (HCHI). Using Hypnobabies to have a beautiful birth of my own inspired me to help other families create the best birthing experience for them. I am also currently working on my doula certification through CAPPA. I have a bachelors degree in nursing (BSN), and work as a nurse at Mountain Midwifery Birth Center. I am so excited to be a part of a team of women who have the same beliefs about women and birth as I do. My birthing experience has also inspired me to get my Masters degree and become a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM). I hope to be starting this new journey in 2008. I love developing relationships with my patients and being a CNM will allow me to get to know women and their families throughout their life and through one of the most important times of their lives. It will also enable me to support pregnancy and birth as a natural healthy process and allow parents to have the birth they choose.
Congratulations on your pregnancy and I wish you the best birthing experience for you!
